Protecting Yourself from Cybercrime and Fraud: A guide for University Students

Students going up to University with new bank accounts, phone, computer and credentials are a prime target for impersonation, abuse and/or recruitment by organised crime.

Report Fraud has therefore produced on-line guidance  Protecting Yourself from Cybercrime and Fraud: A guide for University Students.

Such guidance is also relevant to those starting work or college in Lambeth and/or living at home and commuting into London.

Young people (16 - 24) are disproportionately likely to be victims of crime and are invited to join the National NHW  Young people's hub and sign up for the 'Youth in Action'  newsletters to help them organise their own activities locally. 

In Lambeth we encourage teenagers, particularly those helping look after vulnerable relatives or neighbours, to join street estate groups and ensure that their concerns are also heard via their local Safer Neighbourhood Panel . Those aged over 16 can even be street/estate co-ordinators (although if under 18 they need an adult co-ordinator for safeguarding purposes). 

We plan separate activities in Lambeth to enable teenagers to organise and drive activities to address their concerns. Please reply to this alert if you would like details or have suggestions as to issues you would like to see addressed by a spcail interest group..
